Harris Tweed cloth – Clo Mor, meaning ‘The Big Cloth’ in Gaelic is the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament and the only fabric produced in commercial quantities by purely traditional methods.
Woven on treadle-powered looms and handmade with 100% pure new wool from the Scottish Outer Hebrides, Harris Tweed is cool in summer and warm in winter. It is also easy to clean, can resist water, It’s hardwearing and can be repaired with the simplest of tools.
We have a large showroom at Choice Furniture Carlisle dedicated to two great furniture brands that specialise in upholstery made using Harris Tweed. Tetrad and Wood Bros, both utilize this fantastic cloth and combine it with other natural materials like oak and leather to create some breathtaking pieces.
